Different Lines of Descent for the Ames Family

In an effort to help distinguish the different groups of Ames members in the United States, the following is offered as a suggested grouping of heritages. If you can help with the English geography or with the Other groups, it would be much appreciated. Thanks BRUTON This line of descent came from Bruton Parish, in Somersetshire, in the southwest of England. The first immigrants to America were John Ames and his brother William. MARSHFIELD Marshfield is in an area west of London. For the most part, they spelled their name with an "E" - Eames. The initial "E" was later dropped which causes some confusion. Among the first American immigrants were Anthony Eames and family. OTHER These descendants came from places other than those mentioned above. Some of them are mentioned in the Roll Call Thomas Eames
