He was assessed in Charleston, MA in 1720 as a Blacksmith. In 1728 his mother gave him 120 acres of land in Groton and a 5 acre site in that township. In 1729 he was granted 7 acres bounded on NE by Mystic Pond. He later bought other land. His will dated 29 Mar 1782 was proved 5 June 1786. He served as a sentinel in Company of Capt. Joseph Heath, 19 July to 14 Nov 1722 and from 16 June to 9 Nov 1725 at Richmond. He enlisted 22 Sept 1747, was discharged 23 Sept 1747. Company commanded by Capt. John Codman.
