My maiden name was Marshall.  My parents were Rhoda Marshall and Okey Patterson.
Josephus Marshall was my grandfather. I know that's a very early birth year for him, but it's correct. He died in 1927 when my mother was almost 8.  It's pretty amazing to think that until Nov. of 2003 he still had a living child....155 years.  He was first married to Parmelia McCoy and then second to my grandmother in 1916 when she was 22. Most of the children from his first marriage were older than his second wife.
 
Joshua Marshall had a sister, Elizabeth Jane who married Jacob HOOVER 1843 in Jackson Co, OH.
Joshua and Narcissus were married 1846 in Jackson Co, OH and their children James, Lucinda ( m. Zachariah MILES), Josephus, and Sarah Ann ( m. Jonas ROCKWELL) were born in southern OH. 
For years we've searched for any evidence of parents of Joshua and Elizabeth Jane........county by county in OH and now every place I can find on the internet.  There seems to be no trace of this particular line of Marshall.  I keep hoping someone whose family kept better records will recognize them.
