A Township Map
A Township contains 36 Sections arranged in this order. Each
Section is one mile square and therefore each Township is six miles square.
They are named according to their location. T15N R16E indicates that it is
the 15th Township (or 90 miles) north of the Baseline and the 16th (or 96
miles) east of the Meridian. For Noxubee County, the Baseline is at 32
degrees North Latitude and the Meridian (in this case called the "Choctaw
Meridian") is at 90 degrees West Longitude.
