1. Where should I begin searching?

Begin at "Family Units" which is an outline in alphabetical order that lists all names present, groups them by families, and includes years of birth and death. Individual ID numbers are given and often there are links to Family Record Pages or Genealogical Summaries and other data.

2. What is a "Roll Call"?

A single line of descent, submitted by someone via E-mail. From there, go to "Units" to begin linking to other material. "Roll Call" has been revised and is now called "Branches".

3. What is a "Family Record Sheet"?

It's a single record for a family member and includes his/her spouse(s), their parents, places and dates of their birth, marriage and death, and their children with the years of their birth and death. Also included (when available) are such things as occupation, religion, where they lived, military service, honors, and links to other Records. Sources are also indicated to help verify the material. Sometimes it's called "Genealogical Summary". You get to it be clicking an underlined ID number on the Units page. To provide one, just complete the Form, and thanks.

4. May I add my own family?

Absolutely. All of this was collected and shared by someone else and is made available here for our mutual help and information. Your additions will be welcome. Just send an E-mail or fill out a Form, as many as you like, and your information will be posted on our website.

5. What other Records are available?

There are 11 types of records available, although not all are available for every person. It's just a pattern to keep things organized. For a list of them, go to "Records".

6. How are ID numbers assigned?

Numbers 1 through 1023 are the 10 generations of my own Ahnentafel and are used across family lines. Numbers 1024 and above are assigned sequentially to other family members, their siblings, their spouse(s) and descendants. Please advise if you find a problem. Thanks

7. When a daughter marries, are her children included?

No. The daughter is linked to a Family Page where her husband and their children are listed, with whatever additional material may be available. Then you take it from there.

8. I ran into a problem. What should I do?

Sorry 'bout that. I'll try to help if I can. Send an E-mail and indicate "Where" and "What". "Where" is the URL in the little window at the top of your screen and indicates where the problem occurred. It usually begins with "www.". Just copy and paste that in your email. For "What" please indicate what you wanted to do and what you got instead. I'll try to duplicate your problem and get right back to you.

9. How is this site organized?

It begins with the list of Family Units. Find the person you want and link to his/her Genealogical Summary. That is the collection spot from which you can link to everything about that person that's on this website. A variety of other Records about that person link back there as well. Other materials, of a more general nature to the whole family, are listed on the Home Page. There's a gneral search engine, just for this site, a Guestbook we hope you'll sign, photographs, the Coat of Arms, and a plethora of miscellany. Huh?

10. Where did you get this?

I made it up, then plagarized like crazy, but I've always been helped by the kindness of strangers.
